Keith E. Willis

Keith E. Willis, age 72 of Columbus, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019. Keith was born and raised in Ironton, Ohio, son of the late Eugene and Juanita Willis. Also preceded in death by his infant son, Scott Willis. Keith graduated from Ironton High School, Class of 1965 where he played the saxophone in the marching band. Following high school, Keith went on to complete his undergraduate degree from Moorhead University and graduate degree from Xavier University. Keith was passionate about learning and teaching and his career spanned more than 40 years. He worked at numerous schools within the Columbus City School System and teaching elementary and special education and retired after 30years. Following retirement, Keith began special education tutoring lasting 11 years. Keith was a vibrant man who was outgoing, patient and caring. He was a member of the Prime Timers, Trailblazers, Stonewall and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, art shows, shopping, and spending time together with friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving son, Nathan Willis; granddaughter, Ashley Ortiz; loving partner, Robert Hardin; longtime close friend, Mary (Lisa Perrini) Truelove; and countless other extended family members, dear friends and colleagues. Family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, Ohio.
