

Kenneth W. Hollister, 77, passed away March 16, 2021 surrounded by love at Arbors of Delaware due to complications of Parkinson's. He was born October 13, 1943 in Hackensack, NJ to Jerry and Doris (Grande) Hollister. Ken was a 1962 graduate of Columbus Eastmoor High School where he was a standout all city athlete in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He went on to play football at Indiana University where as a defensive lineman held the NCAA career interception record. In 1965, he was first round draft pick by the Atlanta Falcons but signed with the NY Jets. His pro football career ended in 1968 when drafted by the U.S. Army. He was sent to Vietnam where he served a year in-country. Following his discharge, he returned to IU to finish his degree. He was a teacher, a coach, and then spent many years as an insurance agent. He was a proud member of the Indiana University I Association and the Columbus Chapter of the NFL Alumni and the NFLPA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nina Krauth, and his son, Keith Stiffler. He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay (Matt) Heffner; son, Hans Corban; daughter-in-law, Aimee Stiffler; grandchildren, AJ, Lexi, Maddie, Elliott, Sieri, and Sidney. Also, by his loving and much loved significant other of 20 years, Missy. He will be missed by so many who have crossed paths with the Big Guy - our Gentle Giant. The family wishes to thank all at Arbors of Delaware and Capital City Hospice for the loving care and attention especially these last three months. A private interment ceremony will be held at a later date by SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Mid-Ohio Food Collective or a charity of one's choosing.
