Kyle Alexander Parker - 32 years old - was born April 25, 1988 in Columbus, Ohio. He passed away December 7, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. Kyle's untimely death was due to complications from chronic illness. He was a much-loved son, brother, and fiancé who leaves an incredible void in the hearts of those who knew him and were fortunate enough to share in his life.
Kyle was an accomplished and talented artist who graduated from
the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2010 with honors and a BA in
Illustration as well as a minor in Art History. His love of all things "art" and
talent were evident from the time he held a crayon. His style was unique and
most often left us amazed by his imagination and attention to detail.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cleff and
Hazel Parker, his maternal grandparents, John William Alexander and Mary
Alexander Wallace. He is survived by his parents, Rick and Jacquelyn
(Alexander) Parker of Pataskala, Ohio, his brother Austin Parker of Denver,
Colorado, and his fiancé, Grace East of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by
many other family members, including aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as
friends.
Few knew of Kyle's medical challenges of the past 20 years,
especially these past two. He was very private and did not want to be "treated
differently" so kept his conditions to a select few. Yet he greeted every new
challenge with patience, persistence, and resiliency. Many thanks go out to the
doctors, nurses, and staff who knew and cared for him during his many trips and
stays at the hospital. They always praised his kind heart and stoic spirit. We
especially thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care, Campus
branch for their care and concern over the past two years. We are also grateful
for the friends and family that reached out to him over the past 5 months with
visits, texts, and phone calls. Those acts of kindness and genuine friendship meant
so much to him and were greatly appreciated. We are thankful and blessed that
he has gone home and will no longer be burdened with the limitations of his
illness.
Kyle had such an appreciation for artistic creation, including his
love of visual art, music, podcasts, film, fashion, and food. He always seemed
to know which song to play, which movie to watch, and which restaurant to try.
He will be fondly remembered for his subtle, yet wickedly clever sense of
humor, his unmatched knowledge of trivia, and his mild-mannered and gentle
soul. His genuine kindness, effortless cool, and lust for life will be dearly
missed.
Those who truly knew Kyle know that he preferred not to be the center of attention and out of the concerns for others' safety with Covid-19, there will be no funeral service. The family is receiving condolences and sympathies at home, but will be creating a memorial in honor of his life. If you would like to be included, this is an opportunity to give a monetary gift to purchase a bench at the Franklin Park Conservatory. We also ask that you consider becoming an organ donor in his memory and share in one of his life philosophies, "Start each day with a positive thought and a grateful heart."
