

Larry Sanford, 76, passed away on November 26, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Doris Sanford and his sister, Margaret. He is survived by his brother Robert Sanford; his daughters, Nicki (Kathleen Ives) Skipper, Susan (Logan) Sanford, Kelly Taylor; and his beloved grandson and best buddy/sidekick, Neil Taylor. Larry graduated from Johnstown High School in 1959. He was then in the Army from 1963-1969. After a long career at the Ohio State Highway Patrol, he retired as an Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent. He was an active member of the Aladdin Shriners, National Waco Club, the Vintage Aircraft Association, and the American Legion. In recent years, his greatest enjoyment was learning to play the banjo and performing live with friends and mentors. In addition to playing, he was also an avid bluegrass fan, traveling great distances and cultivating friendships with fellow bluegrass musicians. Arrangements were entrusted to the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230 where a visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, December 1, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. He'll be greatly missed by his many friends, neighbors, and family members.
