Laura Josephine Vaughn

Laura J. Vaughn, age 85, passed away November 13, 2013 at Columbus West Park after a lengthy illness. Born September 3, 1928 in Frankfort, Indiana, Laura was a longtime Columbus and Hilliard resident. Preceded in death by parents, 5 sisters, 1 brother and infant son. Survived by daughter, Susan Wright of Columbus; sons, Dan (Barbara) of Harrisburg and Phillip of Alexandria, VA; granddaughter, Desiree (Todd) Ireland of Hilliard; 2 brothers, several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Laura was employed at Sears Westland before transferring to Sears Distribution Center where she worked in the payroll office. Laura stayed very active after retirement with several part-time jobs, trips and activities at the Hilliard Senior Center. She also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening as well as spending time with family. Visitation will be 1-3 pm Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Private burial will be held at a later date at Grove City Cemetery.
