

He married Mary Louise Fisher, on September 12, 1955 in the state of Utah and together raised four children: Jemiscoe (Gigi), Lawrence III, Shaun, and Guy. He was raised in Toledo, Ohio. He had a wonderful tenor voice and sang in an a cappella group with his childhood friends. He said music was an international language and inspired his children to listen to a broad variety of music. He retired from the United States Air Force for twenty years was veteran of the Vietnam and Korean wars. His military assignments were at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio; Rickenbacker Air Force Base, Ohio; Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina; Hill Air Force Base, Utah; Tachikawa Air Base, Japan; Tan San Nhut Air Base, Vietnam; and frequent temporary duty assignments in Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as a contracting technician for the Defense Logistics Agency and retired from civil service after twenty years. He played in pinochle tournaments with his fellow military retirees as well as teamed with his wife, Louise, playing pinochle with their friends. He was an avid sports fan and followed professional and college sports. Childhood trauma resulted in his bout with alcoholism, but he overcame alcoholism and remained sober for over 46 years.
Lawrence Jr. is survived by his son Lawrence III, and his wife, Kathleen, his son Shaun and his son Guy. Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife, Louise, his parents Lawrence and Inell, his sisters: Ina, Nina, and Elaine, and his daughter, Gigi.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 am- 10:30 am Wednesday, April 1, 2025 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, OH 43232, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
