Leo Thomas Barton, age 89, of Columbus, died Friday, December 2, 2016 at Columbus West Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Buffalo, NY on December 29, 1926, son of the late Leo A. and Marie (Mesmer) Barton. He enlisted in the Navy and retired as a Technical Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force after over 22 years of service. Following his retirement, Leo was a hydraulic service rep with Abex-Denison Division following many years of service. Leo is survived by his wife of 37 years, Eleanor L Barton; children, Leo T. Barton Jr and Wendy Barton; step children, Lawrence R. and Donald J. Bigelow, Brenda K. Bigelow and Diane L. Bigelow; numerous grandchildren and many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis P. Barton and two sisters. Leo attended St. Agnes Catholic Church, where he volunteered as a custodian and Mr. Fixit. He loved fishing, golfing and traveling to the mountains to enjoy skiing. At Leo's request, there will no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Leo's memory may be made to Nationwide Children's Hospital, 760 Children's Drive, Columbus, OH 43205 or to Mt.
