It was always a pleasure to see Leonard at the golf course.  He loved golf and enjoyed the guys he played golf with.  He has been missed.  Sue D.

I can remember walking through the door of the home Grandpa and Grandma built themselves.  The smell of ham and potatoes, pies, and of the distinct smell of the well water that supplied the home.  It was the smell of my grandparents home.  When I walked in, it was almost certain that Grandpa would be sitting in his rocking chair with golf or a football game on the television.  He'd give me a big smile and say "Well if it isn't my favorite Grandaughter!".  He'd then have me give him a high five and play his favorite joke on me where he would show me his hand and claim that I created the years of arthritis and scars that he had from his masonry line of work. 

Grandpa's work ethic was superior.  If mowing 3 acres and weed eating your own ditch all the way to your 90's doesn't prove it to you, he had a whole lifetime of stories that would.  This included stories from the ship he was on during WWII when he was a Merchant Marine.  This led to a moment that not many grandchildren get to experience, my own Grandfather's high school graduation.  Complete with cap and gown, our family got to support and celebrate my Grandfather as he got his diploma he hadn't received because he was off at war so many years later.  

Grandpa loved to travel.  I have many memories of Grandpa driving his Class C RV to go camping.  The vivid memory of the table where we would eat many sandwiches with chips and drink a favorite of his, Coca-Cola.  That same table would turn into the card table, where games of Euchre would go on for hours after we were done eating.  Of course, I didn't always know how to play this beloved game.  I remember the times where I watched the game and looked at the cards in Grandpa's hand.  I remember learning the game and having Grandpa help me with strategy.  Then I remember playing the game, where it was always a fun yet competitive environment.  We spent many family vacations with my grandparents and it was always enjoyable to explore new places with them.  

Luckily, even though Grandpa has passed on, the memories of Grandpa will remain with me forever.  I am so fortunate that some of those memories include my own children with their Great Grandfather.  The same smile and joy he always had when I walked through the door so many years ago  were right there again with his Great Grandchildren. 



I love you Grandpa.  You will be missed.

I always laugh when I think of the conversation we had shortly after Roger and I were married. You told me that I was your favorite daughter-in-law ! Feeling really loved and proud.....I said wait a minute, I'm your only daughter-in-law:blush: You laughed and laughed. You always loved to tease me! You will be missed but forever in our hearts:heartpulse:
