

Leora Hylan, a beloved and devoted resident of Lewis Center, Ohio, passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on February 26, 1938 in Parma, Ohio. Leora was known for her kind-hearted nature and cherished by all who knew her. Leora attended Kent State University and worked as a legal secretary, contributing diligently to her field. In her retirement years, she greatly enjoyed the freedom and peace they brought. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Rhodes; her son, Matthew Rhodes; her granddaughter, Brooke; sister Carol Altman and her nephews, Scott, Bill, and Steve Altman. Also surviving is Greg Nichols, whom she affectionately called the "son-in-law she never had”. Leora joins in death her husbands, George Rhodes and Ken Hylan. She loved living with her daughter and granddaughter. Leora had a passion for life that was evident in her varied interests. She enjoyed participating in her Walk with the Doctor group, watching Fox News, collecting jewelry, gardening, playing the stock market, and shopping at Aldi's. Dottie, her beloved Boston Terrier who passed away earlier in 2025, was also a cherished companion. She loved Cleveland as she resided in both Mayfield Heights and Beachwood throughout her married years. Leora Hylan will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will remember her for her warmth, dedication, and the love she shared with those around her. Funeral services will remain private at this time.
