She has joined in Heaven her parents, Luke and Beatrice Kelley Reed; her sister, Thresia Bolt, and her sister-in-law, Mary Anne Reed. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her husband and loving companion, Mark D. Keller; her children, Kelley (Peter) Hurley, Dayna Case, David (Katie) Martin, and Rae (Chris) Lowden, and her grandchildren, Tanner, Alexandra, Calvin, Reed, Ruby, Cole, Avery and Olivia. She is also survived by her brother, Mitchell Reed; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Jerry Froedge; brother-in-law, Ed Bolt; nieces, Donna Rue and Linda Bolt, and nephews, John and Alex Froedge, and many dear friends.
She was born and raised in Harlan County, Kentucky and graduated from Blackstar High School in 1959. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University and began teaching in Flatwoods, KY in 1963. Upon moving to Columbus in 1967, she began teaching at New Albany Plain Local Schools where she held the positions of classroom teacher, librarian, lead teacher, and elementary and middle schools’ principal. She performed post-graduate work in library science at Miami University and earned a master’s degree in education administration from The Ohio State University. She retired from New Albany in 2001 and was honored to have the middle school library named for her in appreciation for her years of service. She spent her later years traveling, following politics, spending time with her family and the joys of her life - her grandchildren, and her weekly get-togethers with her friends filled with lively conversation and laughter.
