

Lisa Colleen Britain was born July 20, 1973, and went up to heaven with the Angels on May 7, 2019 after a courageous 4-year battle with lung cancer. She graduated from Hilliard High School And Tolles Technical Center where she majored in Electronics and won first place in the State of Ohio in that field. She attended Columbus State Community College where she took art and landscaping and later designed her parents' pond and landscaping. She was an avid costume maker and worked at CATCO In Columbus where she helped dress the actors. She was the ultimate Halloween Queen designing and making costumes. Lisa also was an accomplished seamstress and worked on many special projects, creating beautiful things for Sheri's at 5th Avenue Drapery and Upholstery in Columbus, Ohio, where she worked for many years. Before her illness, Lisa was a volunteer at the Peninsula Humane Society where she cared for sick and injured wildlife from the San Francisco area. She was eventually hired and truly enjoyed her work there. Lisa loved Disney, being with her family, including her nieces and nephews and the love of her life, Bill Hoeksema from Burlingame CA. She was happily married, cherished and lovingly cared for until her passing. She is survived by her husband, Bill, her parents, Samuel (Sam) Sr. and Gloria Britain of West Jefferson, her sister, Angela (Angie)/Todd Stage of West Jefferson -nephews,Trevor, Sam and Evan Stage, her brother, Samuel (Sam) Britain, Jr. of Hilliard and nieces Ava, Delilah and Stella Britain also of Hilliard. A Celebration of Life Party will be held at the home of her parents at 5190 Goodson Road on June 15, 2019 at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name and sent to the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA Adoption Center Animal Shelter, 1450 Rollins Rd, Burlingame CA 94010 where she worked until her illness. She was truly a gift and a warrior beyond belief and will be forever loved and missed by all.
