

Liselotte Hedwig Demopolis, 85, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2018. Born in Aalen, Germany on December 19, 1932, she was preceded in death by her parents Jakob and Maria (Haas) Lutz. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her husband Angelo, in 1996, whom she met while he was stationed in Germany during WWII. Liselotte, upon her arrival in the US, began a family, and a lifelong career as a talented and successful seamstress. Her many accomplishments included modeling fashion in Germany as a teenager, which led to a lifetime love of clothing and fashion, which was obvious to anyone who met her. She spent many years in retail fashion, selling and altering clothing, and made countless loyal customers. Outside of work, she was a lifetime member and officer of the ladies auxiliary of the Germania Club. She is survived by her daughters Despine Gallagan, Dena Knowles, and Tammy (Doug) Overstreet; grandchildren Josh (Julie) Gallagan, Shelley (Ryan) McLarney, Colin (Ginny) Gallagan, Kara (Brandon) Schrinner, Trevor (Katie) Knowles, Jade (Zach) Moyer, and Angelo Overstreet; six great grandchildren Ella, Avery, Kellan, Cassidy, Duncan, and Charlotte; as well as friends and family residing in Germany. A visitation with light reception will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 5-7PM with a memorial Celebration of Life at 6PM.
