Louise Marie Rooney

Louise M. Rooney passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was born on November 28, 1931 in Columbus Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Violet Soyko; her husband Ray Rooney; and her daughter Colleen Rooney. She is survived by her loving children, Tom (Debbie) Rooney, Mike (Glenda) Rooney, Kevin (Michelle) Rooney, Christi (Bryan) Bristow and Rae (Pat) Rooney; grandchildren Kevin “JR”., Becky, Laura, Bree, Emily and Bre; great-grandchildren Izzy and Liam; sister Ruth Elgin and her family.

A 1948 graduate of North High School and a graduate of the Grant School of Nursing. Louise retired from The Ohio State University Medical Center as a nurse after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed her time at the Gahanna Senior Center, where she led the Kitchen Band, played cards and joined others in Malibu and Wii Bowling.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30pm, Friday, January 24, 2014 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. in Gahanna where family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to the time of service. Private interment will take place at Franklin Hills Cemetery.
