

Lucile Heise Radcliff, 93, of Circleville, died at home on Monday, October 10, 2011. She was born in Circleville on November 2, 1917 to Orland Kirby and Anna (Zwicker) Heise. Lucile was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Radcliff; infant son, Paul; infant brother, Roland; brother, Walter Heise; sisters, Mabel Goeller and Edith Valentine; nephews, Ronald Heise and Phil Heise. One highlight of Lucile’s life was being chosen as the first Miss Pumpkin Show in 1933.
During WWII, her husband entered the Navy and they were transferred to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where Lucile resided from 1944 to 2009. In 2009, she returned to Circleville and lived with her niece until her death.
Lucile is survived by nieces, Judy (Jack) Goode, Mary Ellen Tully, JoAnn Carlson and Joyce (James) Rinaudo; nephews, Joseph (Linda) Goeller and Dwight (Betty) Radcliff; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. The family wishes to thank the Berger Hopice team for their wonderful care and support. Special thanks is extended to the Pickaway Senior Day Care personnel for their love and attention this past year. Also, thank-you to Pauline Smith, family friend, companion and caregiver who played game after game of Chinese checkers (Lucile’s favorite). Lucile’s Florida family were Pat and Jose’ Nonog (“Baby and Boboy”). Lucile was their adopted grandmother whom they called “Mama Lucile”. Lucile was always included in the Filipino holiday celebrations.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Forest Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain, Fr. Ian Yorston officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Berger Hospice, 1170 N.
