

Mahin Raz Khabiri, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 9th, 2025, surrounded by family at her home in Columbus. She was born in Hamedan, Iran, to the late Molouk Mehrzadeh and Mohamad Raz. She grew up in Tehran where she attended university, obtaining her degree in Persian Literature. Mahin married her husband of 42 years, Badiollah, in 1958.
She was a devoted mother and wife and supported her husband during his career. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and friends. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making and sharing delicious meals with her friends and family. She had many loving friends, with many of whom she helped establish and support the Iranian Cultural Society of Columbus. She was passionate about Persian language, literature and culture, teaching in both Iran and the United States. She lovingly taught an entire generation of Columbus’s Iranian-American children, helping and motivating them to remain connected with their parental Persian heritage.
Mahin was preceded in death by her husband, her son Ramin, and her sister Pari Taheri. She is survived by her sons Shahriar (Sherry), Hooman (Maria), Babak (Kelly), stepdaughter Nahid Nabavi, and grandchildren Teddy, Owen, Sarah, Madeline, Mason, Ali, Kamyar, brother Behrooz Raz and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 14th from 4-7 pm at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43221. Service will commence on Thursday, May 15th at 11 am at Schoedinger Northwest with Interment at Union Cemetery immediately following.
