Margaret Patricia Barry

Margaret Patricia (Peg) Barry, age 96, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Westminster-Thurber Retirement Community.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Joseph Barry; parents,John and Elizabeth McGrath; brothers Edward, William, Owen, and John; sisters, Mary and Brigid. Survived by sons Thomas (Leslie Poole) Barry Jr., John Barry, and Owen Barry; grandchildren John, Alison, Jonelle, Bret, and Riley; great-grandchildren John, Dylan, Aubrey, and Katherine.

Peg was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1919. She came to the United States in 1922 and resided with her family in Bronx, New York. She attended Hunter College in New York City. After college she worked for RCA at 30 Rockefeller Center. She married Thomas Barry in 1946. Over the years they lived in New York, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and Chicago.

Peg enjoyed reading, swimming, volunteering, and current events.

A memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Westminster-Thurber Community, 645 Neil Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215 on Tuesday, February 02, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westminster-Thurber Life Care Fund, 645 Neil Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
