

Marian Elizabeth Peters Hardin, 76, of Kingston, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born October 1, 1937 in Columbus, the daughter of the late Richard E. and Mary Alice (Scothorn) Peters.
Marian graduated from Ashville-Harrison High School in 1955 and The Ohio State University College of Education on June 12, 1959. On June 20, 1959 she married Dr. Charles Hardin and began their life together by establishing the Kingston Veterinary Clinic. Marian was a Registered Veterinary Technician and a substitute teacher in the Logan Elm Schools. She was active in Pickaway PTO, Logan Elm Booster Club and Circleville Child Conservation League and promoted the veterinary profession in the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association. Marian served on the South-Central Power Board of Trustees from 1986 – 2004.
Marian is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles Hardin; sons, Kent C. (Susanne) Hardin and Jeff B. (Lori) Hardin; daughter, Erin (Brock) Vanover; grandchildren, Chelsea (Colin) Davy, Blaine Hardin, Madison Seimer, Ally Hardin, Ian Hardin, Emily Hardin, Gracie Hardin and Abby Hardin; great-grandchildren, Dalton and Madelyn Davy; and brother, Dr. James (Cindy) Peters.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 18, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 135 E. Mound St., Circleville with The Rev. Dr. Gerhard Kraus and Pastor Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Reber Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Marian E.
