Marie L. Beatty

Marie (McBride) Beatty, age 82, born April 28, 1928, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend who left to join our Lord, Tuesday, November 9, 2010. She was born and raised in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, one of six children. Marie relocated with her family to Columbus where she met and later married her husband, Robert L. (Bob) Beatty. Marie is the proud mother of her son, Robert (Larry) and daughter Carol Bowers; and their spouses, Barbara and Don, as well as her granddaughter, Staci Smith-Stern and her spouse, Joe Stern; grandson, Robert (Bob) and his spouse, Jenn; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Carson and Louis. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Beatty. Marie embraced the truly important work in life in nurturing her family for which they are eternally grateful. Marie and Bob enjoyed many years of square dancing with their friends in the Guys & Dolls Square Dancing Club. Professionally, Marie was a Sales Specialist for Lazarus Downtown and Northland for many years. Marie retired to enjoy spending time with her family and to pursue her love of travel, which took her to Alaska, the Panama Canal and many points in between. Marie’s smile, warm hug and infectious laugh will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held 6:30 PM, Monday, November 15, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where family will receive friends from 6 PM until the time of service.
