Marie was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 7, 1930. She spent her early childhood in Tomah, Wisconsin and graduated from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Grade School in 1944. She graduated from high school in Mauston, Wisconsin in 1948. She earned a B.S. degree in business education at Whitewater State Teachers College in 1953.
Marie was married to Edward C. Naber on June 20, 1953. Marie was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in Upper Arlington. She was a member of The Ohio State University Women’s Club and served as president of the group in 1976. She served as a 4-H club advisor for ten years.
Marie also conducted a part-time secretarial and bookkeeping service for many years. She loved cooking, gardening, travel, and playing bridge. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Marie is survived by a son, Thomas (Connie) Naber of Davis, IL; a daughter, Diane (Mark) Carroll of Dublin; six grandchildren, Andrew (Hallie) Naber, Jonathan Naber, David Naber, Erik Carroll, Nickolas Carroll, and Alyssa Carroll, and one great-granddaughter, Evelyn Naber. Other survivors include a brother, Garry (Marilyn) Peterson and a sister, Jeannine Tesch. She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother, Avis Peterson Stubley; her father, Clarence Peterson, and her stepfather, Charles F. Stubley.
A memorial service will be held at Advent Lutheran Church in Upper Arlington at 10 a.m. on June 5, 2018. Arrangements were trusted to the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL and burial will be in Union Cemetery in Columbus. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friendship Village of Dublin Resident’s Benevolent Fund.
