Marilyn Ann (Heath) Geckeler

Marilyn was a 1970 graduate of Lakewood High School. She received a BSN from Capital University in 1974. Marilyn worked at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for 35 years where she was the first recipient of the Singing Orderly Award. She also worked at Associated Pediatrics for 2 years. Marilyn enjoyed yoga and trips to Florida with friends. She spent 1 year with her family in Australia where she worked as a home nurse.

Marilyn will be greatly missed by her husband, Doug Geckeler; sons, Mark and Brian (Kerrie) Geckeler; grandchildren, Beau, Max, Gage and Gwennie; siblings, Nancy (Larry) Shover, Patti Mast and Al (Lianne) Heath; sister-in-law, Cheryl Geckeler; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Chip Geckeler.

Visitation will be held at 5-8 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where a memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, February 24, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116 or to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hilliard Assisted Living and Memory Care for all of their care to Marilyn.
