

Marilyn Jeanne Bartlett Hingst, age 86, of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at The Chapel Grove Inn in Heath. She was born in Grandview, OH on December 3, 1927 to the late Thomas and Marie (Gilliotte) Bartlett. Marilyn graduated from The Ohio State University in 1951. Marilyn began her nursing career in the early 50’s, then with the Ohio Department of Public Health in 1955. She was a Columbus Public Schools nurse and after 28 years she retired 1992. She was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Protestant United Church of Christ. Marilyn enjoyed painting and collecting frogs. She was a member of The Buckeye Boat Club and an avid Buckeye fan. She was preceded in death by loving husband, Carl Hingst; her parents; son, Thomas K. Hingst, daughter-in-law Effie Hingst ; brother, Charles and wife Ellen Bartlett; nephew, John Bartlett; sister-in-law, Dorothy Weser and husband Glenn Weser. Marilyn is survived by her loving son, James and wife Annette Hingst; granddaughter, Rachel Hingst; grandson, Gabriel Hingst; 2 nephews, Bill (Angela) Weser and Ron Weser; 2 nieces, Linda and husband Kent Collins, Amy and Rupert Loyd and extended family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm & Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 12-1pm at Schoedinger Midtown Chapel, 229 E. State Street, Columbus, OH; where a funeral service will begin at 1pm. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
