

Marilyn Ruth Lash (10/21/1931 to 1/19/2026) was born in Massillon, Ohio, daughter of John Patrick and Frances Marian (Baker) McGinnis. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Lester S. Lash; her sister, E. Louise Keppler (Homer) and her brother Kyle J. McGinnis. Survived by beloved sons Douglas (Gayna) and Gordon (Sharon), niece Karen Keppler Teles (Henry), grandchildren Ross (Jessica) Luckett and Amber (David) Silva, along with 6 great grandchildren.
Marilyn was very active in the community. She was a member of the Columbus Bar Auxiliary and served as President. She was a member of the Buckeye Boys Ranch Service Board and served as Treasurer for both the Ranch and the Ranch Foundation. Marilyn was a member of the Childhood League Board V and helped organize their annual auction. She was also a member of Scioto Country Club and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Marilyn was awarded the 1997 Service Above Self Woman of the Year by the Rotary of Upper Arlington and the 2014 Bill and Peggy Andrews Award for Service to the Buckeye Ranch.
Music was an important part of Marilyn’s life. She was a 40-year member of Vaud Villities. In addition to performing, she worked as a choreographer and helped create costumes. She served on the Board of Trustees and was General Manager of the show for 9 years. In addition to performing in Vaud Villities, she sang in the First Community Church Chancel Choir and Chamber Singers. She also played hand bells in The Chapel Hill Bell Ringers FCC bell choir for over 40 years.
Although various offices and honors were bestowed on Marilyn, she always said that the most important thing in her life was her family.
There will be calling hours for Marilyn at Schoedinger Northwest at 1740 Zollinger Rd, Columbus, OH 43221 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 7, followed by a service of memory.
