Marjorie Patton Reynolds passed away on October 1, 2009 after a long illness. Marjorie spent her entire life in Columbus. She graduated from Ohio State University Phi Beta Kappa and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
Together with her parents, Robert and Dorothy Patton, and her brother, Tom Patton, the Patton Family donated Spruce Run, their family property of fifty acres in Galena, to the Nature Conservancy for use by the Columbus City Schools as an environmental education Center.
Marjorie was active in the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra where she directed the Captain Kangaroo Concert benefit program. She was President of the Alumni Association of the University School and active in the YWCA women’s group. She was a longtime member of First Community Church. Marjorie is survived by her husband of sixty years, Dana Reynolds, Jr., her brother, Tom Patton of Guerneville California, two children: Dana Reynolds III of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Sara Reynolds of Silver Spring, Maryland, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A celebration of Marjorie’s life is planned for later in the autumn. An announcement of the exact dates and location will be placed in the Dispatch on Sunday, October 25.
