

Mark A. Gettles, age 70, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021. He was born on February 21, 1951 to Frank and Laura Gettles. Mark graduated from Walnut Ridge High School, Class of '69, and the Ohio State University with a degree in Communications. He spent 20+ years in radio broadcasting and advertising sales. He retired from second career at Nationwide Insurance in Financial Services in 2010.
Preceded in death by his parents and son Andrew. Surviving are wife Debbie, son Erik (Brandy) Gettles of North Carolina and grandchildren Meadow, Alianna, and Hunter, as well as daughter-in-law Dana Gettles and grandchildren Chloe and Miles.
Mark also is survived by his brother Dave (Liza) Gettles, of Raleigh North Carolina and his sister Maggie (Francis) Castelli of Haymarket, Virginia. Also survived by in-laws, Tom and Sally Walston and Debbie's siblings and their spouses; Cheryl (Scott) Turpen, Sam (Theresa) DeMatteo, Thomas DeMatteo, and Steve (Melodye) DeMatteo, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and friends both lifelong and recent.
Mark was an avid golfer and loved his time with his golf buddies. He was well read and well versed in many subjects and relished discussing current and historical issues. Whether he was playing it or listening to it, music was one of Mark's many hobbies. In retirement he read for the blind and engaged in other volunteer activities.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rabbi Debbie Lefton officiating followed by calling hours from 11:30 AM to 1 PM at Schoedinger North East Funeral Home, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, Ohio. Masks will be required.
