I cannot believe that a year has passed since Mark left us.  Truly his life continues after death, as we think of his good humour, his permanent smile, and kind words each time our golf league tees it up on the first.  Mark is making the turn somewhere - in shorts, of course!

Our entire golf league is so saddened with losing Mark.  One day he was dancing around in his bermuda shorts and now he is gone.  He was our president and probably one of the most liked member because of his friendly and positive manner.   I played golf with Mark a number of times and each time I walked away thinking what a neat guy.  Our sympathy to his entire family and thank you for sharing Mark with us.

Maryanne and family,

Even though i had not seen Mark in probably 10 years I think (at the bar on High St),  he had same same melt right through you smile that he always had. I will always remember that smile.  He was always a leader (ringleader that is), from our days at St Johns.  I still feel guilty about taking advantage of him in intramural wrestling on the day after he got a bad sunburn.  

I second Don's toast, Stroh's of course to a good friend, too seldom seen.

My prayers for you Maryanne and family as we remember Mark's life!!

Mark and I met 47 years ago as mere children. We grew into adulthood, went our separate ways, but in God's goodness were blessed with two wonderful children.  It is through our children that I see Mark.  They have his smile, his laughter and positive attitude.   They have inherited Mark's love of God, family and strong work ethic.  His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren.

We don't say goodbye, but we'll see you again soon in heaven.

Mark was more than a friend and a neighbor. He was like a brother to me, always kind, supportive and fun to be around. Mark was extremely intelligent and I loved to hear his point of view. I will miss him like a brother and I am a better person today, by just knowing him. Rest In Peace my friend.

My wife and I moved to Columbus in 1999 and lived there for 11 years.  Fortunately we met Mark and Mary Anne early on and it changed our lives. We ate and drank together nearly every weekend for close to 10 years.  We have never met a more generous or gracious man than Mark Leslie. If you could buy a kit to build the ideal man, it would come out as Mark. To us, he symbolized humanity. The world will truly miss him. RIP dear friend.

Goodbye old friend. Although it has been awhile the memories are fresh, they make me smile!

You were the oldest, the leader, often the instigator with that mischievous smile! Oh the memories! 1A at SJJ, Swantucky, cross country meets, the bonfires, cases of Strohs, Jesuit retreats, card games, softball, beer blasts, the Scholar house, the Christmas tree, Roadway, Big John, your father's passing, the birth of your children, Kim's passing, your wedding in New Jersey, your home in Dublin, the golf outings and the Buckeye games (you never wore the colors)!

I offer a Stroh's toast to the Patriarch of the Leslie clan, a good man, a good friend, a life well lived, a Man for Others!

My deepest sympathy to Maryanne, Steve, Karen, grandchildren and siblings. Mark is a reflection of God's Love and Light! My life is richer knowing him. May he help guide us to our journey's end!

A fond memory of Mark is the batch of margaritas that he made at a summer family party .  We affectionately referred to the drinks as “Markaritas”.   He was a great guy and we will miss him terribly.

Mark was a rare man. He held himself and others up to higher moral code. Mark was so incredibly intelligent and yet had the ability to make others feel totally comfortable in their own intellect. His cocktails were a science of mixology and imagination elevating the culture of the perfect cocktail. I will remember Mark in many ways, standing behind his outdoor bar, always serving others, walking miles through the neighborhood greeting everyone he passed. and even if someone did not respond to his greeting they would receive the same kind greeting the following day, he broke down barriers with greetings, bridging language and culture. His devotion to Maryanne was evident everyday in the many little things he did for her, packing her lunch, taking her arm as she walked on lawns filled with tree roots, standing when she walked up to a table in a restaurant and always pulling her chair out for her. Class act all the way. There will never be another Mark Leslie, he will be missed always, and in this case, grief is certainly the price we are paying to have loved.
