Mary Lynne Carr, age 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 22, 2022. She was born on November 30, 1936 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Bennett and Marie (Gillum) Browne.
Lynne attended the University of Kentucky. She moved to Columbus and worked at Battelle Memorial Institute where she met her husband. She raised her family and lived the last 60 years in Upper Arlington, Ohio. She enjoyed her semiannual trips to Longboat Key to spend time by the ocean. She was a proud volunteer at Riverside Methodist Hospital where she formed many special friendships. Also dear to her were friends, both recent and lifelong, from “jam sessions” where she loved to sing and play guitar. Above all, she cherished time with her family. She was eager to engage in conversation, quick with a compliment and generous with her affection. We love you more Nana.
In addition to her parents, Lynne was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carr, sister Janie and brother Tommy.
Lynne will be greatly missed by her daughters Laura (Judd) Groza and Teresa Carr; grandchildren Emily (Zach) Yoko, Molly Groza and Joseph C. Carr; and great-grandchild Griffin Yoko, as well as countless friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Family will receive friends after the service until 6 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in her honor or do an act of kindness for someone in her memory.
