Mary Frances "Fran" Hanratty Rodenfels

Mary Frances Hanratty Rodenfels, age 99, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2018. She was born February 19, 1919 to Hugh B. and Rose A. Hanratty in Columbus, Ohio, attended St. Francis of Assisi Grade School and graduated from Holy Rosary High School, Class of '37. Fran retired from her position as secretary at St. Paul School in Westerville in 1981. She was a founding member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, a member of Daughters of Erin, and an active member of St. Matthias Catholic Church. She loved traveling, especially to warmer weather during the Ohio winters, and held her family closest to her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, son Michael, daughter Barbara "Bobbie" Rubin and siblings, James J. Hanratty, Hugh B. "Bud" Hanratty Jr. and Margaret Young. She is survived by sons, Fr. Jerome P. Rodenfels, Administrator Pro-Tem, Church of the Resurrection in New Albany and Joe Rodenfels (Becca) of Gahanna; grandchildren, Kristi (Bruce) Miller of Apex, NC, Shannon (Ricardo) Pacheco of Annapolis, MD and Joey (Ashley) Rodenfels of Blacklick, OH; son-in-law George Rubin; daughter-in-law Sandy Rodenfels; ½ sister Kathleen Sprenger; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Family will receive friends 3-7pm (prayer service at 6:30pm) Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Monday, April 30, 2018 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Rd., Columbus, OH 43224; interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Fr. Jerome Rodenfels, Fr. Charles Cotton and Fr. Ray Larussa will concelebrate the Mass.
