

Dee Werchowski, 78, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by her children from complications of multiple strokes. Born on July 2, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA she was the daughter of Bernard and Mary Olene Schwartz. Her siblings are Peggy (Thomas) Dosch of Sandy Lake, PA and Jay Schwartz of Pittsburgh, PA.
Dee met her husband August "Gus" Werchowski while in high school and continued dating while he attended the University of Dayton. They married on August 17, 1963 and raised five children in Factoryville, PA and Canfield, OH: Debra (Dale) Weideling, Gregory (Carol) Werchowski, Wendy Beahn, Linda Walsh and Michael (Summer) Werchowski.
Dee moved to Upper Arlington, OH in 1993 to be closer to her children. She enjoyed working at The Forum of Knightsbridge and the Ohio EPA where she retired. Dee loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and never missed a football or basketball game on TV. She loved her family, get togethers, People magazine, The UK Royal family and sweets.
Dee thrived at her most recent home of First Community Village (FCV) Assisted Living with friends and staff always saying how helpful and what a delight she was. Dee's children' would like to express their gratitude for the compassion, patience and kind care that Dee received from the staff at FCV.
She will be greatly missed by her family including her eleven grandchildren: Mitch, Will, Rob, Alex, Derek, Colin, Kevin, Mark, Miles, Mia and Maddie.
Due to the current health restrictions a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Dee will be laid to rest next to her parents in Pittsburgh, PA.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Ohio Health Neuroscience Program at Riverside Methodist Hospital. The website is:
