Mary JoAnn Whittington

JoAnn was born in Reynoldsburg on March 28, 1937 to the late Forrest Donald and Lucille Ethel (Myers) Barrick. She passed away Friday February 17, 2012 at the Selma Markowitz Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was 74.

JoAnn graduated from Reynoldsburg High School and went on to be a model; she retired from Children’s Hospital in Columbus from the Genetics Dept. She was a member of TWIGS, loved photography, writing poetry, and eating at Red Lobster. She was an avid OSU Buckeye Fan, was the family care giver and loved people; she was especially fond of animals.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her brother Jack Barrick and special daughter Brenda Cassady. She is survived by her daughter Sherri Whittington, special daughter Marcia Moran and special son Kerry Morrison; sister Judith (Raymond) Eckles, nephew Casey Eckles, cousins Jeanne Kinsel of West Hollywood, CA and James Berry of Lancaster; special friends Patsy Reed, Theresa Tucker, George McCoppin and many other friends at the Washington Square Apts, and her pets Martini, Buffy, Jaz, Jack, Susie and Harley.
