Maureen Jane McGee

Maureen Jane McGee, 86, peacefully passed away on December 10, 2022. She was born on May 16, 1936 in Licking County, Ohio to the late Lewis and Violet Candace Jinks (McCollum). She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Wayne McGee, and siblings Marilyn (Jinks) Schrider and Gary Jinks. She is survived by her son Jonathon (Amy Rohling) McGee of Upper Arlington, daughter Elizabeth (Douglas) Terrill of Stow, grandchildren Wesley and Maria (Doty) Terrill, Rebecca Terrill, and Vivian C. McGee.

Jane graduated from Newark (Ohio) High School in 1954 and began working at City Loan and Savings thereafter. She met her husband Harold at a dance in May of 1957 while Harold was on leave from the Air Force, and they were married later that year on December 22. Harold and Jane moved to Columbus soon after and she continued working for City Loan as a Loan Officer at the Gay St. office. She stopped working in 1964 to raise her family. In the early 1980’s, Jane went back to work at the First United Methodist Church of Kenton as its parish worker. In this position, Jane was able to help hundreds of people in need, whether it be providing food or securing medical care and temporary housing. Jane also established the Hospice of Hardin County. She retired from the Church in the early 2000’s to enjoy her grandchildren. Nevertheless, Jane stayed active in the church.

Jane was a member of the Eastern Star Findlay Chapter 23 and held the Rainbow Grand Cross. Jane and her husband were longtime, active members of the Kenton First United Methodist Church, Kenton, Ohio.

Family and friends will gather for the funeral at 12pm on Saturday, December 17th at Muskingum Presbyterian Church, 4545 Gorsuch Rd., Nashport, Ohio 43830. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Kenton First United Methodist Church.
