Maxine Jennifer Getreu

Maxine J. Getreu, 81, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at home surrounded by family and close friends. She was born June 20, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Nicholas and Mary Albanese and preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Paul Getreu; six siblings; and great-grandson, Ruben. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Lori Marcum of Dublin, Lisa Jones (Terry Criswell) of Pataskala, Lynne Pence (Ralph) of Coppell, Texas, and Leslie Reed (Mark) of Pickerington; son, Eric Getreu (Marvien) of Lithopolis; grandchildren, Jason Robinson, Elizabeth Scheehle (Tom), Adam Marcum, Jordan Pence (Claudia), Erica Stewart (Seth), Christopher Reed, Travis Pence, Caitlyn and Holly Reed, Charlie and Zoey Getreu; great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Jacob, Jared, Sunny, and Shiloh; sister, Donna Hill; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Maxine was a kind, loving wife and mother who devoted her life to raising her family. She had many creative talents and a passion for decorating. She will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 6 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday December 7 at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne.
