

Melissa was a 1996 graduate of Padua Franciscan H.S. in Parma, where she designed the school flag, ran track and cross country, and played volley-ball. She received her B.A. in Graphic Design from Ohio University and her M.A. in Art Education from The Ohio State University. Melissa was currently employed at OSU as a Media Consultant for the Department of Dance.
She met Jeff Wiseman while working in the computer lab at Columbus State University and they married on August 29, 2009.
Melissa was quiet and reserved but could light up a room. She enjoyed living in the city and took advantage of urban exploration, hiking and biking, and volunteering at the Clintonville Food Bank. She would help anyone in need, was kind, generous, liked to read, and loved her cats. She played the trumpet in the brass band called “Brazin Brass”. Melissa was a maintainer of the Columbus Live Journal and had her thesis entitled "Online Museum Communities, Challenges and Possibilities" published. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Melissa will be missed by her loving husband of 5 years, Jeff Wiseman; parents, Carl and Virginia Bontempo; sister, Jennifer (Rick) Senesac and their children, Adrien, Tressa, and Bennett; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Judi Wiseman; brother-in-law, Bryan Wiseman; sister-in-law, Katie Wiseman; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
Family will receive friends Friday, March 14, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State St., Westerville, OH, Fr. David Gwinner, Celebrant. Private burial will be held at a later date.
