Melissa Zarich Rosato

Melissa Zarich Rosato, age 62, of Worthington, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Ross Heart Hospital. She was born April 25, 1951 in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of the late Stephan Zarich and Smiles Zarich, who survives. Melissa taught elementary education for over ten years and retired after over twenty-five years as a school administrator in the Big Walnut, Olentangy and Upper Arlington Schools. She is survived by her loving husband of twenty years, Richard J.; mother, Smiles Zarich; sister, Denese Zarich; stepson, Timothy Rosato; nephews, Stephan and Alex Rohrbaugh; mother-in-law, Josephine Rosato and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. Besides her father in 2011, Melissa was preceded in death by her stepson, Christopher Rosato in 2010 and father-in-law, Dominick Rosato in 2013. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University. She attended St. Stevan Serbian Orthodox Church and was a member of the Serb National Federation Lodge 78. Melissa’s true passion was education and she devoted herself to be a strong advocate for children and their rights to a superior education.
