Michael Richard Johnston

Michael Richard Johnston was born the fourth of six children born to James L. and Ruby V. Johnston on December 9, 1960 in Queens, NY. Michael departed this world on August 17, 2017 at the age of 56 at James Cancer Hospital. He was preceded in death by father, James Johnston. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving partner of 21 years, Angela Johnston; daughters, Patrice (Eldray) Johnston-Watkins and Mariah Johnston; sons, Andrew and Antoine Spence; his selfless, loving mother, Ruby V.; brothers, James "Eric" (Tess) Johnston and Marvin Johnston ; sisters, Belinda Johnston-Briggs, Stephanie (Buddy) Eley, and Ruby Dee Johnston; father in-law, Overton Spence; brother in-law, Darrin (Debbie) Spence; two sister in-law, Alisha and Shirley Spence; four grandchildren, Iniya, Iyona, Cameron, and Adrian; a host of aunts, nephews, nieces, and friends. Michael was a proud veteran of the US Army serving from 1979-1983 as well as 1990-1991 during the Gulf War. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Funeral arrangements handled by Hope and Heart by Schoedinger, Columbus, Ohio and Crowe's Funeral Home, Jamaica, New York. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 10:00AM with visitation one hour prior at Crowe's Funeral Home 107-44 Sutphin Blvd, Jamaica, New York 11435. Burial will be at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
