

Dr. Michael (Mike) H. Mishkind passed away December 1, 2011. Born in Dayton Ohio on May 25, 1945, he graduated from Colonel White High School, Michigan State University, and The Ohio State University Medical School. Mike served as a physician in the Air Force during the Viet Nam War. A long-term partner at Riverside Nephrology Associates (RNA), he was active in several local and national medical organizations including serving a term as President of the Columbus Medical Association. After retiring from RNA in 2007, he worked for the Columbus Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). A lifelong hockey fan, Mike was a charter season ticket holder for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He enjoyed traveling, visiting family and relaxing on Lake Erie and Seabrook Island, S.C. Mike is survived by Roselle (Marino), his wife of 16 years, sons Stephen (Madeline) and Matthew (Jenna), grandchildren Ada, Ella, and Paxton, sister Sara Hurst, nephews Jon Tobin and Aaron Hurst. Mike will be remembered by the Marino family: brothers in-law Salvatore (Josie) Marino, Anthony Marino, sisters in-law Antoinette Marino, Mary Ann Marino, Bernadette (Tim) Boland and nieces & nephews. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Lucille (Griener), sister Pat (Tobin), as well as mother in- law Irene (Marino). All through his life Mike protected and cared for us. He will be missed, and never forgotten. Celebration of his life will be held Sunday December 4, from 2-4 p.m. at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Rd.
