Nancy K. Ross

Nancy K. Ross, 83, of Columbus, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011. She was born January 23, 1928 in Wheeling, WV and grew up in Sherard, WV. Nancy married Lewis K. Ross in 1950. She worked at West Virginia University while Lewis attended University. Nancy cared for her own mother until her death and then helped care for her grandson, Colin. Nancy was a member of Boulevard Presbyterian Church where she was served in many capacities, and volunteered at the Columbus Literacy Council. Preceded in death by husband, Lewis K. Ross; parents, Edgar and Ruth Davis; and brothers, Jack and Bob Davis. Nancy will be missed by her loving children, Celeste (Robert) Thomas and Jerry L. Ross; grandchildren, Colin and Caitlin Thomas; and her beloved cat, Sasha. Family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus. Family will receive friends Friday, June 17, 2011 from 12 p.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1235 Northwest Blvd., Columbus, OH 43212, Pastor James Sledge, officiating. Interment in Northlawn Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to Senior Independence Hospice, 6555 Busch Blvd., Columbus, OH 43229.
