Naomi Ruth Wood, age 89, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 in Louisville, KY. She was born September 11, 1926 to the late James William and Ida Mae (Danner) Shirkey and is also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Wood; son, Dan Wood; and brothers, Noble, Beeman, Cecil, and Lowell Shirkey. Ruth is survived by her son, Randy and Nancy Wood of Mt. Washington, KY; daughter-in-law, Patricia Wood of Gahanna; grandchildren, Jeff, Laura, Jason, Cheryl, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Daniel, Joshua, John, Elizabeth, Jordon, and Landon; many nieces, nephews, and other family members. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna where the Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday conducted by Robert L. Thomas, Pastor. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
