Natherlee Kirksey

Natherlee Kirksey-Everett, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Natherlee was born on April 15, 1926 to the late Nettie (Simpson) and Albert Kirksey and was raised with five brothers and eight sisters. Raised in Alliance, Ohio she attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church before moving to Columbus, Ohio where she was a member of St. Dominic’s Church and served easter baskets to the sick and desserts at community events as a member of the altar rosary society. Natherlee was a member of Central Community House seniors group. Natherlee enjoyed going on cruises and spending time with close friends Denise Purdue, Grace Neely, Tina Moody, and Shirley Butler. She previously worked at St. Ann’s hospital on Bryden Road, Isabell Rideway, and retired from Bristol House Nursing Home on Bryden Road.

Natherlee will be deeply missed by her loving daughter Debra Gardner (Cozart); son-in law Cecil Cozart; granddaughters Cherrelle Patrice Gardner and Nicole Marie Gardner; son William Gardner; God-daughter Brenda Dunlap; sisters Fannie Young (dietician-retired) and Lottie Jones (school teacher-retired); brother Alfred Kirksey (retired); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 455 N. 20th Street, Columbus, Ohio 43203. Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:00am.
