Norma Jean Kibbey

Norma Jean Kibbey, age 99 of Columbus passed away at Westminster-Thurber on Friday, December 1, 2023. Norma was born July 3, 1924 on a farm near Kenton, Ohio to Edward and Gertrude Clary. Norma is survived by sons Kenneth (Sheryl) and Thomas (Judith); daughter-in-law Jacquelyn; grandchildren Kyrsten (Cliff), Grant (Samantha), Shane (Eva), Kristofer, and Elinor; and great-grandchildren Emma, Logan, Hope, Simeon, Brice-Isley, Mauricio Aguilar, Daniel Aguilar, and Emma Aquilar. Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Donald; her brother Joseph Clary and sister Julia Obenour, son William who died in 2005, and daughter Donna who passed away in 2007. Norma left the farm at 16 to attend Columbus Business University, work for Pomphrey’s Menswear and volunteer at Grant Hospital during World War II and spent many years working in the Boulevard Presbyterian Church office. Norma was a loving mother to her four children and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Don toured our National Parks every summer and drove to Alaska five times. A visitation for Norma will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1235 Northwest Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43212, followed by a memorial service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
