

Norma Jeanne Shea, 81, of Circleville, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Grant Medical Center, as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident on August 17 in which her sister, Mary Spangler also died. Jeanne was born August 19, 1930 in Circleville, the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Strawser) Spangler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Shea; infant son, Joseph Shea; and a brother, William “Bill” Spangler. Jeanne was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and worked for the late Dr. Robert McCoy for many years. She had also worked for Pan Ohio S&L in Columbus, the Pickaway County Courthouse and as a bus driver for St. Joseph’s Catholic School. Jeanne loved to garden and play cards with family and friends. Jeanne is survived by son, Thomas (Susan) Shea of Chillicothe; daughters, Molly (Paul) Garrison of Circleville and Maria “Mia” (Ramon) Torres of Lewis Center; grandchildren, Patraic (Amanda) Shea and Megan Shea, Katie (R.J.) Niemer and Shannon Garrison and Tommy and Gabe Torres; great-grandson, Colton Shea; step-great-grandchildren, Braden and Allison Fairbanks; sister-in-law, Barb Spangler; nephews, Michael and John Spangler of Columbus; and cousins, Betty Neal and Margaret Downing. Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jeanne and her sister Mary at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Circleville with Fr. Theodore F. Machnik officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
