

Oma Violet Flinn-Mott, age 96, the final chapter of her life closed on September 4, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Napoleon and Arminda Flinn, born October 15, 1915 in Kenton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Broseke and brothers, Gerald, Parl, and Nevin Flinn. She graduated from Kenton High School in 1932 and attended Columbus Business University. Worked in the finance business for 25 years and for 16 years at the State of Ohio Development Department. She was married to the late Paul Francis Mott for over 40 years. On July 17, 1993 she married Dr. John R. Ervin, who survives her. She is also survived by her nephew, Wesley Broseke and his wife, Joan and 3 sons, Dr. Michael, and Wesley of Kenton, Ohio and Timothy of Texas; grandniece, Dr. Wanda Flinn Lee and her husband, Dr. Edwin Lee of Gaithersburg, Maryland, sisters-in-law, Joanne Flinn, Mary Moffitt and Anne Ervin, plus many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Oma is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and previously a long time member of the Broad Street Christian Church, over 50 year member of the Eastern Star, Upper Arlington Senior Center and Past-president of the Aladdin Shrine Chanter’s ladies. It was Oma’s wish to be remembered as a happy, vibrant individual. Graveside committal will be 11:30 a.m. September 8, 2012 at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center, Ohio 43035.
