

Orville was born in Sprigg, WV on September 23, 1934, to the late Orville McCoy and Etta (Phillips) Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Alma Lee McCoy; brothers Herbert McCoy and Glenn McCoy; sister Charlene Zimmerman, as well as many other family and friends who went on before him.
Orville met and married his wife of 67 years, Alma, when they both worked at Kilgore's in Westerville in 1952, marrying shortly thereafter. Together, they began a family and are survived by son Dickie, and daughter Tonia (Gerry) Duncan; four grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren; sister Marie (Ray) Richardson; siblings-in-law Junior Smith, Mary Castle, Helen Coleman and Susie (Darrel) Neibert; extended family and friends.
After leaving Kilgore's, Orville worked for a time at Western Electric. Upon his retirement from Western Electric, he and Alma went together to auctioneering school in Indiana, then returned home to work for Wally Trout Auctioneer, prior to beginning their own McCoy's Auction Service. He loved his home in the country, where he would hunt, fish, and ride his four wheeler. He enjoyed riding his lawnmower from sun up to sun down and never passed up an opportunity to spoil the grandkids and great-grandkids. They all loved being around their grandpa!
Friends may visit Monday, January 20, 2020 from 4-7PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1PM. Committal will follow at Mifflin Cemetery.
