Oscar Torres

Oscar Torres, age 13, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 18, 2012. He was born March 9, 1999 in Columbus, Ohio, and from that day forward, always had a smile on his face and a willingness to share his gift of joy and happiness with everyone he met. He completed the 7th grade at Woodward Park Middle School, where he played the trombone in the band and enjoyed his time with friends. He was strong in his faith and was a member of Santa Cruz Catholic Church. He was welcomed into heaven by his siblings, Maria Magdalena y JoseMaria and maternal grandmother, Esther Tovar. Oscar is the beloved son of Gilberto Torres and Leticia Pineda; he is also survived by his big brother, Gilberto Torres, Jr., currently stationed in Japan, and his sister, Carolina Torres, who lives at home and attends Northland High School. Oscar’s maternal grandfather is Javier Pineda and his paternal grandparents are Jesus Torres and Senaida Fuerte; he was a special nephew to his godparents, Homero Torres and Angela Sierra and leaves behind many extended family members and many friends, especially Alan, Julio, Will, Roberto and his cousin, Homero Torres, Jr. Family will receive friends 4-8pm Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229 where a Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon Friday; Fr. Antonio Carvalho, Celebrant; interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center, Oh. Please visit www.schoedinger.com to share memories or extend condolences. Oscar Torres, murió a los 13 años de edad, el Sábado, 18 de Augusto, 2012. Nació el 9 de Marzo en Columbus, Ohio, desde este día siempre tenía una sonrisa y compartía la alegría de vida con todos los que lo conocieron.
