Patricia Gail Helm

Patricia "Gail" Helm, age 84, of Blacklick, Ohio passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at her residence. Those familiar with Gail knew the warm comfort of a full belly and the resolve of careless laughter. It was her generosity that made her a great mother, and her open doors that made her a saint. Though her guidance and compassion will be missed, her legacy continues through the strength of her loving family. She was born on October 12, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Edward and Josephine (Carr) Huffman, and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy. Gail was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, and the Allied Florist Association. She nurtured a career in the floral industry for more than 50 years and was a preschool teacher at Messiah Christian Preschool. In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Donald A. Helm, and brothers-in-law, Pete Taylor and Walter Helm. She was a loving mother of seven children: Debbie Liffick, Julie (Dan) Schneider, Christine (John) Shanks, Patrick (Melodie) Helm, Laurie (Bob) Benintendi, Holly (Erik) High, and Judy Helm. Also left to cherish her memory are 13 grandchildren; 2 ½ great-grandchildren; brother, Guy (Karen) Lawler; sister, Sylvia Taylor; sister-in-law Jeanne Helm; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear, lifelong friends. Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232, where a prayer service will begin at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Rd., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068; Msgr.
