

Patty was a great wife, mom, grandma, and friend. She brought light and enthusiasm to all of her pursuits. She was married to Bill on August 24, 1963 and he survives her, along with her daughter, Heather (Michael) Kelly; and son, Heath (Jennifer) Mielke; grandchildren, Patrick and Taylor Kelly; Jack, Katherine and Will Mielke; as well as sisters, Dana Bland and Marybeth Perkins. In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Webster.
Patty was a 1959 graduate of Upper Arlington H.S., graduated from Stephens College and attended The Ohio State University. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, Pleasure Guild of Children's Hospital, and the Childhood League. She was also a member (58 years) of First Community Church where she served on many committees including the Guild Group V, the Governing Board and in the Stephen Ministries. She was an avid team tennis player at Northam Park and loved making the gardens of The Woods of Scioto and her home, beautiful.
She served as Controller of Ditch Witch of Ohio for 15 years, the business that Bill and Patty built together, retiring in 2000.
Family will receive friends Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 19 at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, OH; Dr. Richard Wing and Rev. James Long officiating.
