Pat was born on May 23, 1945 in Clovis, California to the late Leonard and Cynthia Claybaugh Frame. She is survived by her husband, Jefferson White of Clintonville. She is also survived by her son, Joseph Rugola and his wife Mary of Portland, Oregon. And by her brother, William Frame and his wife Sharon of Clovis, California.
Among other accomplishments, Pat obtained a PhD in Japanese art history. When younger, she lived in Japan for a short period. Later in life, she worked as a translator at two Japanese companies in the Columbus area.
Pat was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbus, where she chaired the Building and Grounds Commission and was a member of Parish Life, Pastoral Care, and the Lay Weeders. She served one term in the vestry and two terms as senior warden. In 2010, she was licensed as a Lay Preacher in the Diocese of Southern Ohio. Until her illness, she was preaching about five times a year at Trinity.
Pat loved flower gardening and, until her illness, maintained four thousand square feet of perennials in her backyard. For a number of years, she was Clintonville’s “plant lady,” digging up 2000 seedling plants each spring for a yard plant sale. Pat also helped start the annual Clintonville Garden Tour and for many years was a member of its steering committee.
Pat was a loving wife and mother. Since retiring, she was able to enjoy much more time in her garden. She and Jeff were also able to travel to Europe and to Israel.
