

Paul E. Hubbard, age 88, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010. He was born December 2, 1921 to the late Thomas and Mary (Binder) Hubbard in Lancaster, Ohio. In his early years, Paul moved with his family to Columbus where he delivered papers for the Dispatch and graduated from Central High School in 1939. Paul was a US Navy Veteran who served during WW II aboard the USS Monterey and the USS Lake Champlain. After his military service, Paul worked for Western Electric, retiring in 1981. In addition to his parents, Paul is also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Hubbard. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laura (Ames) Hubbard, daughter, Mary (Lee) Peterson of Arizona; son, Douglas (Missy) Hubbard of Grove City; grandchildren, Mike (Melissa) and Barrett Brown of Arizona, Ryan (Becca) and Katie Hubbard of Grove City; and great-grandchildren, Katelyn Brown, Ryley and R.J. Hubbard who will all remember his strong work ethic and his storytelling. His family will receive friends 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28 at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Broad St. Private family interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.
