Peggy Joyce Doolittle

Peggy Joyce Duff Doolittle, age 78 years old, passed from this life to her eternal resting place on Monday, September 22, 2014. She was preceded in death by her mother, Estelle Virginia Elkins, father, James Eugene Elkins, of Beckley, West Virginia; brother, James L. Elkins of Orlando, Florida; sons, William Edward Duff and Timothy Kirk Duff; and husband, Melvin Koss "Pete" Doolittle of Gahanna, Ohio. She is survived by her sister, Brenda Sue Elkins and Angel of Gahanna, Ohio; brother, James "Dobbins" Elkins of Hemet, California; sister, Geraldine Sadler of Lashmeet, West Virginia; children, Frank D. Duff Jr. of Gahanna, Ohio and Joyce Marie Pack of Moore Oklahoma and their father, Frank D. Duff, Sr.; nine grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Peggy was born January 27, 1936 to James Eugene Elkins and Estelle Virginia Elkins in Beckley, West Virginia. She attended Woodrow Wilson High School and the Beauty Academy. Peggy worked as a hairdresser at various salons over the years; played on several bowling leagues; and was an avid Yahtzee player, often playing on through to the morning. Peggy and her sister cared for their mother at the family home in Gahanna during her long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 2 P.M. until time of service.
