Philip D. Edwards

Philip D. Edwards, age 87, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Oct. 2, 2023. He was born on June 2, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Peter C. and Alda Ruth (Deffenbaugh) Edwards. He joins in death his parents and siblings Harriett Morris and Donald Edwards. Philip leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years Susan (Moore) Edwards; children Philip Scott (Christina) Edwards and Keith Alan (Deana) Edwards; grandchildren Samantha, Spencer, Ellie, Brooke and Emily; great grandchildren Avery and Zane. Philip retired after 41 years of service with Columbus Southern/AEP. He was a proud member for over 80 years at the Glenwood United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed coaching little league football, which he did for over 20 years. Philip was a 32nd degree Mason belonging to the Westgate 623 Lodge for over 50 years and was also a proud Shriner who belonged to the Hillbilly Shriners Club. Visitation will be held on Friday Oct. 6, 2023 from 11AM to 1PM at the Glenwood United Methodist Church, 2833 Valleyview Dr, Columbus, OH 43204 where the funeral service will be held at 1PM. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Glenwood United Methodist Church in Philip’s name. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services by Schoedinger – Hilltop Chapel.
