

Randall C. Adkins, age 71 of Westerville, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012. He was born in Barboursville, West Virginia, on September 23, 1940, youngest son of the late Homer and Eva Adkins. Also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Linval Adkins. Randall was a graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School, Class of 1958. Following, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy and finished his service with the Ohio Air National Guard. Randall was a dedicated worker and retired from Lucent as an Associate Engineer after 38 years. In addition to work, Randall was also very dedicated to his church ministry. He was a Lay Minister at Franklin United Brethren and chairman of their Care Ministry. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping and spending time in the Smokey Mountains. Randall was a dedicated family man and was truly “the rock” of the family. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 49 and one half years, Beverly (Snyder) Adkins; daughters, Lisa (John Mark) Hamill and Cynthia (Robert) Jones; grandchildren, Katie, Joshua, and Grant Hamill and Sarah, Stephenie, and Jacquelyn Jones; and other family members and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday, February 24, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday at Franklin United Brethren In Christ, 7171 Central College Rd., New Albany. Pastor Michael Brown officiating.
